UX and UI: what is the difference?
UX (user experience) is how the website works: structure, navigation, the order of the content and how easy it is to get done what you came for. Good UX means visitors find what they are looking for without having to think about it.
UI (user interface) is what the visitor sees and touches: colours, typography, buttons, icons and layout. Good UI makes the site look professional and feel comfortable to use.
A website needs both. We start with UX, so the right pages exist and the paths through them are clear, and then design the UI that builds trust and carries the brand. What “easy to use” means depends on the visitor: for clinics and restaurants it is booking in a few taps, and for local businesses it is a phone number and an address that are impossible to miss.
